CBRE’s Marina Bay Financial Centre office shows how a workplace can feelalive and responsive from the moment someone walks in, using technology. Thespace integrates an array of sensory technology and data, including sound, airquality and lighting. Together, they create a consistent and adaptive sensoryexperience, aimed at improving employee wellbeing.
Moodsonic soundscaping runs across the entire space, helping shape theatmosphere in a way that fits the activity in each area. Meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and quiet zones all use sound as part of the overallexperience. The system responds in real time to what’s happening in the office, supported by a network of Moodsonic sensors that monitor changing sound levelsacross fourteen zones.
The project uses Bluesound Professional PoE pendant speakers and hubsthroughout the office. This allows CBRE to change or expand audio zones withoutrewiring.
Data captured through the Moodsonic sensors also helps CBRE understandwhether rooms are being used for focus work or calls, allowing the workplaceteam to plan spaces more effectively. CBRE’steam combine sonic insights with occupancy data to better understand how peopleuse each space and adjust their real estate strategy based on real behaviour, rather than assumptions.
The outcome is a flagship office that feels considered and intentional, withsound playing a central part in how people work, concentrate, and connect, andhow future real-estate decisions are made.
“The data is invaluable. By understanding the noise and space usage, we know what type of work people are doing and what type of spaces they need to do this work.”

This was an exciting project to be a part of. CBRE are doing really innovative work in rethinking the role that technology can play in workplaces and employee wellbeing – how the two can come together to create spaces that feel more healthy and alive.
