GSK Melbourne workplace wins Good Design Australia award for its inclusive, adaptive spaces

We’re thrilled to see GSK’s new Melbourne headquarters recognized with a 2024 Australian Good Design Award. The win reflects the project’s thoughtful, wellbeing-led design and forward-thinking workplace strategy.

Designed by M Moser Associates, the headquarters was conceived as a dynamic “destination” workplace to support GSK’s hybrid teams and evolving business needs. The design brings together localized character with global brand standards, creating a flexible, inclusive, and data-driven environment that empowers collaboration, connection, and performance.

Health, accessibility, and neurodiversity were prioritized from the outset. GSK’s Occupational Health & Safety strategies guided the integration of features like circadian lighting, biophilic design, and a hospitality-style front of house to enhance comfort, safety, and overall wellbeing.

Moodsonic’s intelligent soundscaping system was part of this holistic approach. The "impact" analysis noted:

"Designed to achieve WELL Gold Certification, GSK’s environmental health and wellbeing requirements were met by exceeding DDA requirements and applying neurodiverse zoning, circadian lighting, Moodsonic soundscaping and biophilia."

Since completion, the project has gone even further and achieved Platinum WELL Certification, placing it among only a handful of workplaces in Melbourne to receive the highest level of recognition for health and wellbeing in the built environment.

Congratulations to GSK, M Moser, and the wider team involved in delivering this benchmark project. We're proud to have contributed to a space that puts people at its core.
