Soundscaping & Sound Masking: Applications & Project Fit

Delivered by Moodsonic

Presented by & Moodsonic

Course description

This course is designed for AV professionals familiar with sound masking systems. It compares sound masking and soundscaping as related but distinct approaches to sound in shared environments. Participants will explore how project objectives and architectural intent shape the choice of solution, including when sound masking hardware may be suitable for soundscaping deployments and how soundscaping informs the system design requirements.

The intended audiences for this course are AV integrators and systems designers involved in sound masking projects, AV sales engineers and project managers involved in sound masking projects, and CTS and CTS-D holders.

Learning objectives

  • Compare sound masking and soundscaping as AV design approaches and evaluate whether soundscaping is an appropriate response to a project’s acoustic, architectural and experiential objectives.
  • Produce a high-level conceptual AV design for a new soundscaping system, determining whether compatible sound masking hardware can be incorporated into the proposed design.
  • Evaluate an existing sound masking system against the requirements of a soundscaping deployment, determining whether components can be retained or adapted.
